8th Annual Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA
Last year we went for the first time to the Maker Faire in San Mateo. The Maker Faire is a two-day, family-friendly festival which embraces invention, creativity and resourcefulness. It was such a FUN and great experience. We loved to be around so many talented, passionate and creative people. You will find there a technology expo, a craft show, engineering, design, science projects, educators, artists and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset….All in one place!
Robots, legos, experiments, electricity, space marines, 3D printers at the Maker Faire… and you can see in the photo my daughter got fascinated with the typewriter. 😉
The Maker Faire started in the Silicon Valley in 2006 and has grown in popularity. In 2012 the Bay Area Maker Fair had 100,000 people in attendance. Now the faire is expanding to Detroit, New York and many mini faires around the world.
Maker Faire is all about participation, lots of hands-on activities and having fun! There was so much to see that we didn’t have time to finish in one day. This year we will attend both days 🙂
Bay Area LEGO Users’ Group. Fun and colorful.
Creating a 3D model with 56 cameras with “one click” at the Maker Fair 🙂 and a 3D cardboard modeling printing . Fun at the Autodesk’s Booth!
Learning Stop Motion Animation!!! My daughter’s favorite last year.
