Visiting the San Francisco Flower Mart
Imagine the smell of a thousand flowers all in one place. Don’t imagine it…experience it at the Flower Mart in San Francisco.
There are only 5 wholesale flower markets in the US. The SF Flower Mart is the second largest in the country after the LA Flower Market. The SF Flower Mart contains over 50 local individual vendors offering quality premium flowers who specialise in all your floral needs with every flower imaginable.
The San Francisco Flower Mart is open to the public from 10:00am – 3:00pm Monday through Saturday. We visited the Market on a Saturday afternoon and many vendors were still open.
Usually by 9-10am most of the wholesale vendor start to shut down operation since they get there at 2am. Even though many vendors have left for the day, the smell of fresh-cut flowers was everywhere!!
If you have a friend in the flower business who own a badge, you can go inside as early as 2 a.m. and you will be able to find every type of flower possible.
This place is great for brides on a budget, brides looking for floral inspiration or if you are crafty and are planning to do your own floral arrangements. It is less expensive than purchasing them from a flower store.
While you are there pick up a fresh bouquet of blooms for a loved one and show someone that you care… why wait for a special occasion?
If you have never had the opportunity to visit the flower mart, it should definitely be on your San Francisco bucket list. I’ll definitely be back! Maybe for Valentine’s Day to get some roses or mistletoe and decorations for Christmas! 🙂 What do you plan to pick up?
Have a Smiley Day!!!
Victoria 😉
